RICHARD GERE SUCCESS

I received a success from Richard Gere today. I sent to a temporary venue address at a movie set: Hachiko, a Dog's Story.

Sent: February 20, 2008
Received: March 19, 2008

I sent a photo, LOR, and SASE. He didn't sign the photo I sent but sent me a pic of him and Hachiko instead.

This made me question why my photo wasn't signed and I began to wonder if it was a PP, or autopen, or secretarial, or something---that was then personalized with my name.

I have inspected it carefully and it's not a PP. I have seen PPs and this has been signed by a pen. I can actually see the edges of the ink in the light. It doesn't appear to be autopen as the finishing strokes don't appear to have blunted ends.

I have searched the net and looked at many sites that claim to have in-person autographs from him and they all look very much alike and they look like mine. I have looked at the secretarials and mine doesn't look anything like them.

If it was a secretarial why didn't he/she sign my photo? And why didn't Mr. Gere sign my photo? I think that either he signed and personalized it, or he probably signed some ahead of time and then perhaps a secretary put my name on after.

I know that some celebs only sign one photo, and perhaps he thought I might really appreciate a photo from the movie. I'd really like to think that he did the personalizing.

The article at this link---dated March 18, 2008---claims the film recently wrapped.

Sorry.
