Today I got Colin Firth.

Date Sent: Feb. 14, 2008
Date Received: May 15, 2008

Address Used (doubt it's still valid):

Colin Firth VENUE
A Christmas Carol
c/o Humbug Entertainment
12641 Beatrice St.
Los Angeles, CA 90066
USA

I sent a LOR, SASE, and an 8x10 colour photo.

I received my photo back personalized.

It came back from the UK and I sent to a venue in the US.
So now I am busy wondering if it's secretarial and it's driving
me nuts. Why would they have gone to the trouble of sending
it to the UK when it was right there in the US where he was.

The fact that it was three months later makes me wonder
if he has finshed his work on the film and is now back in
the UK. And that he now has a chance to take a breather
he is now catching up on requests. At least that is what I
am trying to tell myself.

But if it were secretarial why didn't they just send me a
reply from the UK right away . . . why wait three months . . .
hmmm . . . ?

I went all over the net looking for comparisons and it looks
very much like a PP I came across. The style is definitely the
same. I also came across an IP---at least they said it
was---and the Colin is definitely the same, and the Firth is
similar. The PP Firth is very much like mine.

Anyway, here is the picture. If it is real I am sooo thrilled to
have it.

He Dallayce! :D

Congrats! Nice success! :D

I also tried to catch him via this venue and got a reply from UK. I believe he's finished filming and then returned to the UK to do his fan mail when he's got a time. I believe it's authentic (mainly because I also got his auto and want it to be authentic  ), but not sure.

He's a great actor. One of my favourite British actors ever :D . He did very good job in so many movies, like in "Bridget Jones's Diary" or "Love Actually". :D

Regards,
Sammya ;-)

Thanks for the supportive words! {up}

Mine does look very much like a PP I came across---I assume it is a PP of his real autograph. If so, then mine is definitely authentic. And as I say I came across an IP---at least they claimed it was---and the Colin is definitely a match, the Firth is a little different in the F.

Although when I sign my name, depending on how fast, or slow, I write it, my H will look completely different. The faster I write the sharper the hump, the more slowly I write it the more rounded and defined it becomes. So . . . from one signature to another there can be what may be thought of as discrepancies, and it is just due to normal variation.

Or maybe I am just trying to convince myself it's real because I have a small doubt in the back of my mind. It has been three months. Most films shoot for three months. If they were going to send a secretarial then why didn't they send it as soon as they got it? Why the three month lag? Hmmm . . .

Here are some links to PPs---unless they are PPs of secretarials that someone decided to do to make money---they are similar to mine:

Here is one that claims to be an IP. It was obviously signed quickly and is more of a squiggle, but it is the F that I am looking at as that is what has been different in the various autographs. If this is an IP then the F is the same style as mine. A downward vertical slanting line that then goes up again and then loops left on into the remainder of Firth.

These make me lean toward authentic. Unless all of these examples are all fakes . . .
