Ralph H. Baer
Message from Polograndma:
It is nice to see that you are a fan of Ralph Baer. However, I am a family member and you should know that he is very upset that you posted his mailing address here. On his behalf I am requesting you remove his mailing address ASAP!
Thank you!
See Admin, I have recently talked to a Family Member and Mr.Baer is upset that his address is used for the Public to see. PLEASE remove the address from the database. I am very sad that he is now angry with me for posting it. I always put "Not allowed to release address" and you guys force us. How can we do this when other signees request us not to post the address?

This happened to me a few months ago. I found a website of someone I had been looking for and her contact address was listed, so I wrote her a letter. Great response, she even e-mailed me a full-sized photo that she had on her site so I could print it up and mail it to her. I posted my success and I am guessing she was immediately besieged with mail. She asked me to remove her address from my post but it was too late, as others had gotten successes from her by then and posted it.
She had been very kind to me and I cannot help but feel I betrayed her trust somehow.

Well if the address is private then I don't post it. Period. Same goes for Via Venue addresses. I will not post those unless it's a theatre address like the broadway ones in NY. And if it is a private address or Email address I post those types of successes under the 'General Discussion' topic as usually those won't get deleted and you don't have to provide the address.
And I don't give hints on where to find them either, common sense should be enough and if the people want it that bad they won't mind looking for it. I do tons of research and find addresses quite easily and don't have to pay to get them.

I feel really bad that I betrayed his trust. Fanmail never replies and I hate when my post gets deleted. Its on Fanmail by the way! In the database. Fanmail only replies to his own mods. I ask you to remove it.

Why should you feel bad? Mr. Baer's address has been on here since 2007 and other sites like this as well.

So it wasn't you who had let the cat out of the bag. I can understand a family members frustration being he's 89. My opinion is there's more frustration on their part bringing this gentleman to the forefront on here so he can be inundated with autograph requests. Nobody forces anybody to post an address!!!! You want to share a great autograph from someone notable that's fine but nobody is holding a gun against your head forcing you to post an address. So what if it get's thrown in the trash on here. Is it that a big a deal? Are you writing these people for you or are you trying to impress fanmail.biz and the members on here?

?? that's odd, i saw the address listed on here. being that im a huge fan/collector/business video game guy i sent to him oct of last year, no prob. but i never posted the success because he is not listed in the data base. I can't imagine he has been besieged for auto's??

It's understandable why he would be upset. If you were in his shoes you wouldn't want your address to be posted around and letting the public know. I think he just wants privacy and we should give him that.
