That was quite rude. it may mean nothing to you, but it is really cool to other people.
Since this particular board is for posting SFM successes, you'd lose this argument.
No offense, but try acting a little nicer towards people.. some people may think
things you find important mean nothing..

Megan is right, this forum is no place for comments like johnnylightning's. He started another thread here earlier asking "SFM AND PP PHOTOS...SUCCESS AND WHY ?" but it was closed and locked before I could respond to it. Here's part of the reply that I made on another forum in response:

"Many people like the fact that the SFM pics are better than the crummy photocopied copyright violations that people are selling on Ebay. And they understand that when a given celebrity has hundreds or thousands of fans writing with autograph requests, that same celebrity is probably too busy to sit and sign hundreds or thousands of pictures.

I challenge anyone here to sit and sign their name a hundred times in a row... and then sit and do it again a few days or weeks later... and then again. That's why getting an authentic autograph from an A-list celeb is a challenging hobby, and at the same time, receiving a nice, "authorized" replica, for free, is a generous nod from a celeb to a fan. SFM provides busy celebs a way to show appreciation to their FANS; their goal is not to deprive collectors of authentic autographs."

There are plenty of other forums to go and discuss, POLITELY and MATURELY, authentic autographs. (Hint, hint.)

not just sign autographs, but film for a movie or tv show, which can last 12-14 hrs or more a day, spend sometime getting chased down by crazed pap's, spend the little free time you have to keep up with your things you have to do all while trying to maintain a personal life..

not trying to cause an argument or anything.. just my personal opinion.. feel free to disagree!!

Well, it's one thing to catch them in person and have them sign a pic, probably no big deal, but it would be a real chore to sit down and sign for the hundreds of people who are constantly writing in. Each person writing thinks, oh, it's just one pic for me, but multiply that by hundreds or even thousands. So not everyone can get a real autographed picture. That's just the way it goes. But at least these celebs make sure something goes out to the fans. I don't think a celeb should slave away at a pile of photos with a Sharpie just to satisfy the autograph collectors.

musicfan: I see your point :)
But in my opinion anyway, which often times is wrong( :) haha) , it can be a demanding career, so when you are short on time, but are still loyal and appreciate your fans, i agree with ought-o-graugh, that SFM is a generous way to show their appreciation, and still be able to maintain successful careers..
Just the way i think, though.. i could be 100% wrong ;)
