Would someone please explain why it is that anyone would put black writing on a black photo?!
Even some celebs have signed black on black. They can see what they are doing. If necessary sign the back of the photo. At least that way you can see it.
If ever I am sending a black photo I always leave a 2" white strip across the bottom, or I include a silver sharpie in the envelope. And I have now taken to putting a post it note on my letter and on the photo telling them to use the sharpie. The first one I sent to didn't and I can't see his autograph.
All studiofanmail are PP or AP. That's a very nice photo though!
