I always see people posting Studio Fan Mail successes, so, when I officially got very involved in the hobby (I've been a collector since 2009, but really got enthusiastic and started sending requests every day back in December), I decided to send requests to SFM. SFM, for me, is always a second-option. I will only send SFM requests if the celebrity doesn't sign authentically TTM (even if you send your own photos TTM). So, it can't hurt to add a celebrity's AP or PP to your collection when there is no chance of getting an authentic TTM, right? Plus, why waste postage and send a letter, SASE, etc, TTM when you could send an email and get the same PP or AP, anyway.
I sent for "M*A*S*H" actor Alan Alda on 12/14/2010.
I sent for "Friends" actress Courtney Cox Arquette on 12/15/2010.
I sent for "Murphy Brown" actress Candice Bergen on 12/15/2010.
I sent for "Meet the Parents" and "Night at the Museum" actor Ben Stiller on 12/15/2011.
I received a 'signed' photo of each of them in four separate envelopes on 4/25/2011. This is my first SFM success and I am surprised at (while the signatures aren't likely real), who good the quality of each photo and 'signature' is. Maybe I got APs and that's why they look so good? Either way, I am happy.
