How big for the SASE?

Unread post by AdventAngel »

Hey guys, I think I messed up my first send out, but I think I want to start getting into this.

I didn't send an SASE for my first send out, but I'm wondering; how big should the initial envelope be? The SASE should be a smaller size to fit in, correct? Should I insert a cardboard slip into both envelopes? Should I get the envelopes with bubble wrap protection inside?

This autograph I'm trying to attain is very important to me and I really don't want to mess it up. Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot guys.

Typically most celebrities send out 8x10 photos, so if your not sending your own item for them to sign, then a 9x12 SASE is what you'll want to incude. I just use the normal orange kraft kind. {up} I never add any cardboard protection to mine (cheaper to send out postage wise), and they come back just fine.

you can always fold the SASE so it can fit into your mailing envelope. I can make a 9x12 SASE fit into a #10 business envelope, by folding it three times. {up}

Hope that helps!

Oh really, they send their own photos? I didn't even consider that, I was just thinking of making it as easy for them as possible - also I want it personalized so that way it's unlikely I will receive a pre made sign... right?

Also thanks for the tip, I didn't even think of folding it. I'll be sure to do that.

Some will send their own photos, Personally I always send my own items for them to sign. {up} Many will personalize if you ask them to in your letter, I've got over 500 items that are personalized to me. :D & many will sign photos as the fanmail comes in, and other will pre-sign photos ahead of time and when a request comes in, they'll add the personalization to it.

Hope that helps!! :D
