They will not think its weird. Depending on the celebrity, they may not even read the letter to be honest. Don't worry about it though. Just don't sound like a psychopath.

This is ok: "I think you are a great actress, and your character Xxxx in YYyyy was fantastic. You looked so beautiful in that movie. I am looking forward to your future projects."

This is *NOT* ok: "OH MY GOD, I AM YOUR NUMBER ONE FAN AND I LOVE YOU AND YOU ARE SO AMAZING. YOU AND I SHOULD HANG OUT WHEN YOU COME TO MY CITY BECAUSE I AM VERY UNINTERESTING BUT I'VE IMAGINED THAT U AND I ARE BFF FOREVER OK? No but seriosuly it wont seem creepy. I'm sure they would take it as great compliment lol! I've mentioned it twice in a letter, once to an actress in Harry potter who replied and said how sweet I was lol. The other time I attempted to get the band Skillet VV and mentioned how I thought their drummer (Jen Ledger) was one of the most beautiful ladies I've ever seen, never heard back from that reqeues though. There was only a couple year difference though (im younger), between myself and the drummer and actress. If I was like some 50 year old man saying it, it might be a little creepy though..
