I'm wondering what is appropriate to say in a fan letter about myself without sounding ridiculous. Is it appropriate to say something about myself, or include a blog/twitter address as part of my signature? I generally do this in regular business letters, but I don't know if it sounds pushy.
Do any of you get replies to letters?

Writing fan letters
I've gotten autographs now and then since 1985, mostly at sci-fi conventions, but I'm an amateur collector at best.

Re: Writing fan letters
I usually write a little something about myself since to celebrities i am a total stranger; I think it's kinda important for the celebrity to know a little bit of their fans. I write your name, where you're from, age, hobbies, and perhaps you can say twitter (but I normally do not). I usually get replies from the fan mail I send. I hope that helped and good luck!

Re: Writing fan letters
Great! I always feel kind of silly introducing myself to people because I don't know what's interesting to them. And I'm also slightly embarrassed by writing to celebrities. I don't know why. I guess I don't want my husband to tease me about it.
