Getting discouraged by feedback?

Unread post by BillyOcean »

I don't know if this is a common occurrence with most, but I have sent about 20 letters to various sports stars based on the general feedback of this forum.

It has been a few months and I keep seeing quick turnarounds for people on the same players I sent to while I have only received 1 letter back.

Am I doing something wrong? I send with every letter my item to get autographed, a letter, and a SASE.

Are there any tips or suggestions yall can give me?

thanks!

Honestly, sometimes it is all about luck and timing. I have been in the same situation as you more than once, and it can be a little frustrating seeing other people have success sending to the same people you did, while you don't have the same success. That is all part of the hobby. Sometimes something may get lost in the mail (or elsewhere), and sometimes the individual just answers a few autograph requests. All you can do is keep trying.
Sometimes you just have to take a chance and try the address that you have. That is part of collecting autographs through the mail. Sometimes you will have success and sometimes you won't. Their are no 100% locks for success.

Hang in there, sometimes it just takes time.

It's also very random with some players. I know I have guys that I've tried 2-3 times that I've seen others get back and I've heard nothing back...who knows why.

If it's somebody you really want and it's been a few months, try again. Sometimes letters do get lost, or end up on the bottom of the pile & re-sending might work. Just make sure it's a tested address that has successes! :)

This is probably the wrong forum to ask this but...

You and your letters are probably suffering from the ill fate of being on the bottom of the pile.

Otherwise maybe your letters aren't good enough.

Probably just from being on the bottom of the pile... it happens
