posters internationally

**first post, ever, so bare with me..
I would really like to send a poster to Rosie Jones in the UK to sign (from the US). Does anyone have an experience in sending larger items overseas, or is my best bet scaling down to a regular picture?
I know from reading on the forum that, if the item is valuable or important to me, its probably not a good idea to send, so I am leery of sending it. But.. it would be awesome to have her sign it.
