Envelope sizes

Hey all,

I have a complete newbie question to ask When I send mail to a person for an autograph, what size envelopes do you recommend?

I have some A4 ones which I guess would be the "outer" envelope. For the returns SASE, what size is suitable? Do 10x8 envelopes exist? Are they recommended? Do 10x8 photographs fit in them ok? I'm in the UK , so I'm hoping these can be found in good ol' WHSmiths

I always send out 8x10 photos, so I use a 9x11 for the return envelope and a 10x13 for the outer envelope. Does that make sense? LOL. If I run out of 10x13 (it happens!) and I'm too lazy to go to the store, then I'll just use the 9x11 and actually fold the return envelope in half so it will fit inside. Hey, it works!!

PS - I see on your signature that you have Jamie Bamber's signature!! I'm jealous! I sent to him back in March but am still waiting. May I ask what address you sent to? I'd love to complete my collection of Battlestar Galactica signatures.

I got Jamie Bamber's from an ebay charity auction - it had come from one of the conventions he did last year. It was only a tenner and definitely his :o) I've heard he's quite hard to reach. (The person who I've heard a lot of people are disappointed with is Lucy Lawless. Not great at engaging with the fans Which is kinda sad).

I usually send 8x6 pictures in a c5 envelope. For the SAE i just fold another c5 envelope in half. Had no problems with that method so far.

I bought the envelopes from tesco for about a quid
