Return address and return postage questions

Forgive me for my ignorance, but I have a few questions. What does everyone use for the return address on the return envelope? I've been using my own address, but I'm always concerned that it will screw something up. How does everyone estimate the return postage? I have been getting the post office employee to weigh the return envelope with the sent items. I then tell them to include additional stamps just to make sure. The last time, the employee at the post office used a Flat Rate stamp on my return envelope (that celebrity tends to throw in extra signed things). Any suggestions concerning my questions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

First off, I usually leave the return address on my SASEs blank but you can also put your address there so it will be extra sure to be delivered to you-even if you've not put enough postage, for example.

Those flat rate envelopes are expensive and not all people add extra things!

To predict postage costs, I weigh my items at home. Since I usually send the same thing to multiple people, I know basic weights. (Ex, up to two 4x6 for the one ounce costs)

I usually send a large 9x12 envelope folded up with two USA first class stamps on it. I have gotten very familiar with the usps website and always go there to answer any postage questions.

I've done that for a while, and always advocate the same--ever since I saw someone who used typed address labels post a return where a moron at USPS RTS'd it because they decided the "to" address was invalid. Somehow, the identical label on the return address wasn't, though...

There's a lot more that can happen than just a postage due issue.
