Soon I'll go nuts.

It says that if you want an autograph from a celebrity, you should do ditt and datt, AAH.
Can't you just send a letter to the address of the celeb, and ask for a signed photo?
Isn't that enough?

This makes me crazy.
'n I want signed photos from celebs :/
or well, if they just send copys that'll be okay.
Please, anyone, help me.
I'm all new to this thing sending letters to celebritys, asking for autographs.
Has anyone actually gotten an answer, with a copy/signed photo?
And from who? How long did it take?
And do you just send them a letter, nothing more, just send them an ordinary letter, without doing all of this:

"If you want to request an autograph, follow the guidelines bellow. If you just want to mail a letter with the address above, and do not want anything back, then you can stop reading!

If you live in United States send a properly stamped and self addressed envelope (minimum size 8.5" x 4") with your request letter and a photo.

You can include a piece of cardboard to keep the photo from bending in shipping and also add "Do Not Bend" on the envelopes.

Send your letter and wait. On average, there is going to be a 3+ month wait for a response.

If you do not live in United States, add several* International Reply Coupons.
The International Reply Coupons (IRC) will be used by the receiver to purchase american stamps. You can only get them at your post office. Place the IRCs into the envelope, not on it. For more information on reply coupons click here.

*For information on postage prices to receive a letter from USA click here"

Sorry for taking your time, but I REALLY hope that anyone can help me.
There's a few celebs I'd like to write to.

just search the forum for whoever you want to write using the "search" button at the top of this page. that'll let you know if they sign or not and how long to expect. then, just write a simple letter stating why you like the person, stick 2 stamps on a 9 by 12 inch envelope, and stick all of that into a regular business size envelope with 39 cents on it (all thats for if you live in the US and writing to someone in the US). all there is to it. like tom petty sang, "the waiting is the hardest part".

It can take a while Atreyu_ . :?

Sometimes a person will sign in a short time (a week would probably be as short as is logically possible) but others are known to go for a long time-6-8 months even longer.

Not all celebrities sign if you just send a letter. It is more convenient for them if you send a SASE, but that doesn't mean a guarantee. Some celebrities don't send anything either way.

I agree with darkthrone: check out the search engine and see if the people you want to write are listed.

All the best!

Some celebrities reply if you only send a letter. But most celebrity won't send you anything unless you send an International Reply Coupon or Self Addressed Stamped Envelope.

Different celebrities get different amount of fanmail but most of them don't want to spend money on replying to their mail.

Jackie Chan and John Travolta are one of the few who will most likely reply to your letter only.
