The amount of IRC's you need to have something sent back from the US/UK will depend on how big your envelope (SAE) is.

1 IRC will cover the minimum weight/size of an envelope back to any country in the world. This normally means the standard, small envelopes that normal letters are sent in.

If you are looking to send larger SAE's with your request (such as 9x12 inch), you will need a minimum of 2, possibly 3 IRC's with your request.
