Questions about SASE

Unread post by JazzyG033 »

So when you include the SASE, what size should that envelope be? As big as the original Envelope? That whole process is a little confusing to me...

Hi JazzyG033 :D

Welcome to the forum!

Your SASE will depend on whether you're sending photos/other items or not.

If you are sending a photo or other items to be signed by a particular celebrity, I would suggest sending a SASE which is big enough to have your items returned (obviously this will depend on how big the photo/item is).

If you're not sending anything to be signed, and instead wanting a celebrity to send you a photo, I will highly recommend sending a large 9x12 inch SASE. This will be sufficient to have almost any large (or small) item sent back to you.

Your envelope addressed to the celebrity doesn't have to be very big, just as long as you can fit your SASE and (if applicable) photos/items in their to be signed. You can fold your SASE in half/quarters/thirds etc to fit in your envelope. Just don't forget to write "Do Not Bend" on the envelope!

Good luck!

This still confuses me, as I have never done it before. So if I were sending 5x7 photos, would a 6x9 envelope be ok? And do I have to put my letter in a seprate envelope? Sorry for all of the questions :lol: I have only started this hobby about a month ago. Thanks {up}

Hi Taxi_06 :D

Don't worry, it can be confusing at first, but you'll get used to it :wink:

If you were sending out a 5x7 photo, yes - a 6x9 envelope will be fine (as your photo will fit in the envelope) {up}

From this, get your letter, photos and SASE (or SAE & IRC's) and envelope addressed to the celebrity organised (this can be as big or as small as you want, provided that everything fits inside).

Put your letter, photo and SASE inside the envelope addressed to the celebrity, put stamps on it, seal and send it :wink:

Good luck!

No, just put your letter in the envelope addressed to the celebrity.

That means, you only need 2 envelopes - one addressed to the celebrity and the other being your SASE (or SAE).

I hope that helps.

I remember how confusing it was when I'd just started out! Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it after your first few requests. :lol:

I never had that problem. It just seemed logical and straightforward to me when I started :shock:

However, I do understand that others may be confused when starting out ... but everyone gets the hang of it after the first few requests {up}

I used to always wonder what would happen if the celeb decided to send me something bigger - but that was way back when I was rather naive, so now I'm pretty fine with things!
