To send off a request, you'll need 2 envelopes.
ONe should have the address of the celebrity on it, in your case David's Beckhams care of the agency/club. The other envelope should have your address on it, and is the self-addressed stamped envelope.

Depending on where you live you will either need an international reply coupon (IRC) or a normal stamp.

The normal stamp can be used if you live in the same country as where you are sending the request (for David Beckham' agency that will be the UK, for his club that will be Spain). Then just stick the stamp onto the self-addressed stamped envelope.

If you don't live in the same country and are writing abroard, then you'll need to enclose a couple of IRC's which you can buy at the post office. They go inside the main envelope.

Then, just fold the letter and the self-addressed stamped envelope (and a photo if you want that signed in particular) and put it all in themain envelope with the celebrities address on the outside.

This picture explains it pretty well. Like I said, if you live in the same country then ignore the IRC bit and just put a stamp on the envelope with your address.

I hardley ever send SASE, and I still get the same amount of responses, so if you are on a tight budget, I would only send an SASE to someone you really want a response from.

i agree with kel,
i have to usa acots sent just an envolope with the request and gotten the same response. the only ones i have ever sent an envolope with is to football players bc i sent them a card to sign for my son this way they can sign it and drop it back in the address envolope with the stamp already on it to me. other than that outside usa i have sent a few people a self address stamped envolope to return my phot or my cards back. i never bought any irc. didnt know about that either. the only time i send a sase is when i am sending my own things out to be signed this way i can gaurteed them back and its alot easier for them to be like oh ok ill sign it and then put it in the envolope thats all i have to do so.. thats all i do though

A SASE just looks like this;

A normal envelope but with your address. I live in the UK, so that one just has a 2nd class stamp on, which covers up to 60g. I'm not sure how postage works in other countries, so you'd have to go to their website to find out how many stamps you need.
