Advice from the experts?

Unread post by byronicthought »

Okay, all you experts out there. I'd love to know what you think about the authenticity of this item I've got a bid in for on Ebay.

All the seller says about it is that it is "self-autographed," "No tears (slight bend at upper right hand corner),"On original photo paper," and "Very RARE photo."

It APPEARS to be sort of legit, judging from the comparisons I've made. The seller seems to be willing to sale it for about $30.00. I'm extremely new to this hobby, but that seems a little cheap for a legit hand-signed Bette Davis autograph. Maybe it's not, or maybe the seller isn't aware they might be able to get more for it? Like I said, I'm an amateur. Which is why I would very much appreciate yalls opinions. Thanks!

There is alot of very good forged Davis material out there. I'd be very careful dealing with a seller I knew nothing about. Who is the seller?

All the seller states she knows is that her former boss bought it at an auction a few months ago along with several other old. signed photographs. She says she can't be sure exactly which estate it came from. The Ebay seller in question has 358 positive feedback comments, as oppossed to 10 negative over the last 12 months.

My opinion is, that it's fake.
Of course it is not at all easy to tell without seeng the autograph live.
It kind of looks like it is forged.
When You look closely, it seems to bee written very slowly, which is a sign of forgery.

I hope this helped. If it did, feel free to rep me!

Doesn't matter now. byronicthought has already purchased the item. Me personally I would not have purchased that particular item from that seller.
