Collecting In Person with friends/siblings

Hi, I was curious what people's experiences were when collecting autographs in person with good friends/siblings. How do you deal with it if only one of you ends up getting an autograph and the other misses out, let's say if the celeb is rushing. Do you end up sharing the autograph with your friend/sibling? To be nice and not have your bestie upset or angry? Or do you keep the autograph for yourself?

You just deal with it. That's the nature of the game. I've been places where my friend with me has gotten a signature and I didn't, and vice versa. If they're upset or angry with you that you got a signature and you didn't,then they're not your bestie. I don't "share" the autograph with my friend, and they know this (and likewise, I know the same in regards to them.) We all have our priorities: A photo or whatever item for ourselves, then any extras for other people. It all evens out in the end because my friends and I get autographs all the time for each other when one of us can't make an event.

What if you both massive fans and never have the chance to get that celebrity again and they are now deceased?

That's life, no pun intended. My friends and I are mature enough to be happy that someone in our circle got an autograph, even though we may not have. And we attend a lot of events where we don't know if a person from whom we're seeking an autograph will be making the rounds again.

This is a different topic, but what if you were able to get a rare item signed that you both owned (a one of a kind item)? How would ownership work then? Would you both get a certain amount of time with the autographed item? I only bring this up because I was reading an article online about how more people are becoming co owners of fine art at art auctions, and the article maps out various situations and I belive it would be applied to autographed items as well. Im only throwing out hypothethical situations, as I feel it could get dicey between friends.

It would never happen to begin with. There's no co-sharing of autographs or of items to get autographs on. How would that work to start? Person A wants a football helmet but doesn't have the money and Person B buys it so they both co-own it when it gets signed? I've never heard of that. You can insist, Yeah, but say it happened, and I'll still insist, it wouldn't happen, not with my circle of friends. And again, if things get dicey between friends over something inconsequential as an autograph, then they're not really your friend.
