New To Auto Collecting

Hey everybody, my name is Ian. I'm pretty new to the whole autograph collecting/ writing to stars thing. I just had a few questions that I know have probably been answered many a time (honestly, I'm too lazy to look through all the search results).

1) What are all the abbreviations that you guys use? (SASE, etc.)
2) What should I send to an address in order to receive an autograph?
3) What should I include in a letter/ e-mail to have the best chances at getting an autograph?
4) Which stars do I have the best chance of hearing back from?

4: Browse the feedback thread, it gives you a good idea. My experience is that most people that are hot right now will be hard to obtain through mail/email. Some stars get 10's of thousands pieces of mail a month. You have a better chance to write someone that hasn't had a hit show/movie/song in the last few years.
