First Fan Mail Attempt ever and needs some help

Hi all-
Hope someone can help out with this possibly silly question but as this is my first ever attempt at writing to a celebrity I'm not sure how likely it is to even receive a response and if so, how long the process takes. I'm sure it must depend on the celebrity, their schedule and thus is difficult to predict -but do you know the real average time required to (hopefully) receive a reply?
Is it generally 3-6 months, especially if it is sent internationally? Again, it is merely getting an "idea" for what to expect. I sent out my letter and included a self addressed envelope, IRCs and photo over a month ago; since then I haven't heard back yet and didn't know if this is common or if I should resend it again. Any ideas???
Learning the proper procedures is never easy and I just thought I'd clarify. To anyone and everyone that can help- Thank you tremendously!!!

Firstly, there is no given time on how long it will take to get a response. My quickest is 2 days, my slowest is 2 1/2 years. I'd say, it would usually be about a month or 2 months to get a response, but it depends on who you write to.

I'd wait for a bit to get your response back, the chances are the celebrity is away, or busy working. As I said, it depends on how often they recieve their fan mail from their agents. Who is it you;ve written to? That might help me work out how long it will take!
