Autograph signed with blue/black/silver marker???

I searched the forums and I couldn't find anything about this topic so I decided to open this topic...
My friend (who also collects autographs) told me that its better when an actor signs with blue marker (sharpie) because it lasts longer than black or silver, does anyone know if this is true???
Also from experience some actors I've met IP don't like signing with blue sharpies because they think you'll sell that autograph on ebay.

I don't think it makes a difference, but who knows.
Personally I am a big fan of silver and gold signed pictures. ;) Unless it's a light picture then black would be preferred. I always bring my own sharpies when meeting celebs IP, never heard about the blue sharpie being rejected though.

In my honest opinion, i have not seen a difference in either!! Celebrities will sign with all of them as i have seen!! I have autographs in all three and i think they all work perfectly fine!! The only one thats a bit iffy is the silver one as it tends to leave really horrible faint streaks when your getting something signed.

And yeah I've noticed that sometimes when a picture is signed with a silver sharpie it tends to leave fading streaks.
About the blue sharpie being rejected, that happened to me once with Corbin Bleu and I was later told that the cast of HSM doesn't sign IP with blue sharpies .
I guess the whole blue sharpie lasts longer than black is just a myth then...

Also I have found that sometimes the metalic gold and silver ones are more prone to flaking off after a while.

My preference if for sharpie blue / black /red - I'm not bothered!

One question guys...the one autograph i got from James Earl Jones, was almost wiped out like a chalk! it's in a quite bad condition now but i keep it safe to last -at least- as it is. Anyway...do you think the paper i used was not good,or it was the marker? (a silver/gold one) Thanx.

btw the paper i used is : Glossy Photo Paper GP-401

Sharpies for flats with consideration that the color can be seen,and ball point pens for baseballs. What else do you need to know?

I had read also awhile back that blue was supposed to not fade as bad as the other sharpie colors however i do recall a post by cernan who posted an example that proved that wrong and that black and silver seemed not to fade as bad as the other colors when put into direct sunlight. If you can find that post it is a good example.

I don't have any autographs signed in Blue Sharpie so I can't help you there. But all of the ones I have signed in black have not faded a bit, even my older ones seem perfect. Silver though I don't like, they seem to fade quick. I have a couple autos signed in Silver and they are already fading a little bit (Amanda Righetti) and they both smeared quite a bit too.

Personally, I like black fine-tip sharpies. They dry instantly, and are perfect for baseballs, glossy and matte finishes, and I have never known them to smear like felt-tips do occasionally, and I don't think the sink into baseballs either.
