but most of them are like more then 700kb, thats far from enough for 10x8

File size has no bearing on quality of image, its the pixel count that matters. A pic thats 300x600 pixels wont look that good blown up on a 10x8.

Well maybe its the players you choose? I have tried developing carricks club pic for my friend, and it turns out perfectly 10x8!
