2 straight forward questions

Unread post by fiz »

hi i was wondering if you could help me with 2 things
firstly, im planning on getting my friend an autograph for her birthday. she loves this band and i know she would love to have her autograph. i was wondering, when i ask them to sign a picture for her, should i make my letter that of a fanmail letter? cause as i do like their music but im not crazy about it like she is. should i say how much she enjoys thier music? so should i say we?

and secondly, i am planning on writinng and asking my favourite actress to sign a picture for me but i also want her costar/husbands to sign it to. how do i ask without sounding pushy? or inconsiderate?

thank you so much for your time!

If you specify who you're talking about it'd be easier to answer...

I've done this once. If you're writing to get something signed for your friend - say that you're writing on behalf of your friend and that you are writing to them because you would like to get an autograph for her.

I would probably mainly talk about how much she likes their music. If you are also a fan of their work you might want to make a mention of how much you like their music too (but remember the focus is to get an autograph for your friend).

I've actually done this once too! It might help if you send a photo of both of them to sign. In your letter (addressed to the actress), mention how much you enjoy her work etc (fan letter) but when you ask for her to sign also mention that if it would be possible to also get her husband to sign too.

Be polite about it, but stress the point that if it would be possible and not that you must do it for me. I normally mention in my request that if it isn't possible then it's not a problem or something along the lines of that.

Good luck!
