You don't have to send UK stamps for the return postage. You can go to your post office and ask them if they have IRCs (International Reply Coupons) they are used to have the person trade them for stamps and they will use the stamps to send you something back. When sending fan mail, put it in a envelope along with an SAE (Self Addressed Envelope). To do that, you take 2 large envelopes and then write your address in the middle of one envelope and fold it so you can put it in the other envelope. For the other envelope, write the celeb's address. Sometimes, the celebrity will also send you something back even if you don't send them return postage...don't worry, I have tried before. But different celebrities have different expectations so please fell free to search the celebrity that you want to send fan mail to on this site and look over some of the feedbacks so you will know what to do. Hello!

Welcome to the boards! {thumb2} I hope you'll enjoy it here :D .
I don't know how or where to buy UK stamps.
You can either try to exchange or buy them here, on our forum or, as rockchic95 said, go to your local post office and ask if they have IRCs (= International Reply Coupons). You add them to your letter and the celeb will exchange them for postage to your country.
I also don't know of how much the stamps would have to be in order to be sent back to my country
As you are in Portugal, the prize would be the same as for me, so letter up to 20 grams are for 50 pence, up to 40 grams for 72 pence, up to 60 grams for 94 pence...but hese are prizes for small envelopes like the ones I use. You can find further information here.

Feel free to ask if you need help! Good luck!

Thank you very much for your warm welcome.

I have asked on my post offices if they has the IRC, but they don't..... :(

And even though some celebrities as you say might send the items back without having the return postage, most of them might not do it....

Is there any way I can get UK stamps?? just in cases....

Like I said, I'm new here, and I want to start sending out some letters w/ photos to a few actors I really admire... and I don't know if they reply without the postage (Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Hugh Laurie, Jeremy Irons and Richard Armitage ....these are the first ones I would like to try to get).
So, all help is much appreciated for me to start.

Hi :)

Do you have any philately (stamp collectors) shops or fairs in your area? This is a great way of picking up mint British stamps for low prices, and you can still use ones that are from the 1980s and 1990s - as long as they add up to the values that Sammya posted above. You could also try ordering from the Royal Mail website : http://www.royalmail.co.uk

Good luck! {up}

I have an idea...you can go to the bank and if you are an adult with a bank account (if not, ask your parents) to exchange portuguese money with UK money with the right currency and just send the UK money with your fan mail to the celebrity in the UK. Make sure you go on the Internet to check how much UK stamps cost and find the right measurements of the self-addressed envelope that you are planning to send as return envelope and make sure you put enough money...but if that doesn't work, maybe you should go on Ebay, or this forum, amazon, or from someone that is from the UK on this forum to trade or buy UK stamps. Make sure to look at some of the feedbacks for the celebrity that you are trying to send to so that you have an idea if you HAVE to send any return postage at all! Like Shambler said, you can order some UK stamps from the Royal Mail (UK Mail) website ;-) Greetings from CANADA!

Hey,

I live in the Uk and one first class stamp costs 32 pence. So I would say putting 3 first class stamps in the envelope and that should cover it.

As for where to buy them Ebay?

Hope I helped

Is it possible to buy un-used (NEW) UK Stamps on Ebay?? I thought you could only buy used stamps there, for collectors.....

Just another question..... First Class Stamps also work for sending mail to countries outside UK, like Portugal?? Cause I thought outside mail could only be sent by airmail....
You say 3 first class stamps should do it? Cause I think those can be bought on the Royal Mail online shop....

I'm trying to get everything organized, gather as much stamps as possible in order to start sending some letters and maybe receive some autographs back before christmas. :)
