I usually send IRC's but I heard International Stamps are cheaper. Could someone explain how international stamps work?
I live in Australia and anyone else who live in Aus that uses the international stmaps method could you help me? And do you know how much they cost. Thanks to anyone who can help {thumb2}

Re: IRC's or International Stamps?
k....you se international stamps to send.....internationally
and international reply coupons are used for people who are international from you to redeem for stamps.
its a bit of an akward question.....you never put an IRC on your envelope, you just put on the international stamps. The IRC's are putin your SASE so the person you are sending can send the envelope back free to them. they just redeem them at their post office to get stamps for their country.
hope this helps

Re: IRC's or International Stamps?
Hi mrs.cullen
If you can get a hold of some stamps from the country you're sending your request to - you won't need to send IRC's along with your request.
So instead of sending a SAE and IRC(s) with your request, you'll send a SASE instead with the stamp of the country you're sending to on your SASE.
E.g. if you're writing to someone in the US, you'd affix US stamps on your SASE.
It's cheaper this way as the cost of an IRC here in Australia is expensive.

Yes nowandagain that was the answer I was looking for
Do you live in Australia, if so, do you know where I can purchase US stamps?
and how many would I need to put on my SASE?
Thanks everyone for your help {thumb2}

OK, you see, she's talking about putting international stamps on the RETURN envelope.marokee wrote:k....you se international stamps to send.....internationally

For example, I live in the UK and I want to send to Australia.
I put a UK international stamp on my envelope and an Australian stamp on the return envelope but don't include an IRC.
It's cheaper.
