Postage and Evelope's from the UK to US

Unread post by Caggiefish »

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me? I want to send some requests over to the U.S from the UK with S.A.S.E's in.
I have sent before but with IRC's. The stamps I am going to use are forever stamps. So I was wondering how many stamps to put on an A5 sized evelope?
Also, Do I need to put an airmail sticker on the front of the envelope?
If so, can it be one from the Royal Mail?
And if there is anything else anyone can think of to help that would be lovely.

Thanks, :D

Hello

So I was wondering how many stamps to put on an A5 sized evelope?
It really depends on size and weight but I would put 3 forever stamps on your A5 envelope to be sent back to the UK

Also, Do I need to put an airmail sticker on the front of the envelope?
The post office I think usually do this but I'm not sure, you'll have to check with someone else

Feel free to ask me anymore questions {up}

I am drawing a blank on how big a A5 envelope is. :oops: I am in the US so I do more in inches than letter/number combinations.

If it is a small envelope it would need at least 0.94 in stamps (over 2 Forever stamps) or 1.74 if it is up to two ounces (a little more than 4 Forever stamps)

If it is a large envelope it would need a minimum of 1.20 stamps (3 stamps) or 2.00 if it is up to two ounces (about 5 Forever stamps)

Let me know if you need more help. {up}

A large photo (8X10) in a large envelope weighs just about an ounce. If it's got cardboard or other things in it, it will weigh more.

As for smaller photos: you can have several photos in it and keep it under an ounce. I have sent 2 5X7s and it was under an ounce and 4 4X6s and it was under an ounce.

Hope this helped.
