Sending from the UK

Unread post by conormacleay »

I've read all the sticky's but am still a little confused as to what I should be doing.

1.I get a large envelope and write the fanmail address on the front.
2.I buy a smaller envelope, stamp it with a regular UK stamp, and put my address on the front.
3.I insert a photo for the celebrity to sign in the envelope with my address on it.
4.Put the self addressed envelope with photo in it inside the bigger envelope.
5.Send

Please tell me whether this is right or not. Not sure about what the whole IRC situation is. Any help is appreciated.

Thank You in advance :)

That would certainly work, but I do it a little differently. This is how I do it:

1. Get a regular business-sized envelope. Write fanmail address and (your) return address on front, and stamp it. Put letter inside.

2. Get large (I usually use 9x12, not sure what you call that in UK) envelope. Put your address on front and stamp it. I put my own address as the return address, but you don't have to.

3. Fold up large envelope and put it inside smaller envelope. I generally fold it three times. It'll fit, don't worry.

4. Send.

But again, your way would work fine. For mine though, you would pay less postage on the outer envelope and have to buy fewer large envelopes. Most people generally have the regular size anyway.

As for IRC's, they take the place of postage if you don't have stamps from the country you're sending to. If you can manage to find some IRC's, (they're really hard to find and I've never even seen one), just slip two or three inside your envelope instead of stamps. Still stamp the outer envelope, though.

Hope this helps!
