Spring Training Arrivals?

Unread post by baseballboy21 »

Hey everybody! :D
What day do players usually arrive at Spring Training; e.g. when should I send my ST letters?
Thanks!

Pitcher and catchers report around Febuary 15th. Official all team workouts begin around Febuary 20th. Exhibitions start March 1st through the end of March (around the 27th). Dates might change from year to year though, I'm not 100% sure. The daters above are from last year. {up}

You could check the team sites to find the answer to your question. I'm not being snotty, I truly don't know. I just haven't given it any thought, other than noting that most teams are really trying to push sales for the spring training games on their websites. It's too soon for me, I usually don't start thinking about spring training until the beginning of February. You could also check other simular sites, like Scout.com, Baseball America's web site, etc.

Looking to send some letters out as well, better to send things to get signed or just LOR?

Spring training this year starts Februrary 17th, when pitchers and catchers report.

Always send something to get signed, especially to spring training facilities. Never expect the players to look around and find something to sign for you, or you'll just be setting yourself up for a failure.

The smaller the item, the better! They will sign baseballs, hats, cards, photos, anything that is a reasonable size. I don't think they would want to lug around something big (ex. bats, helmets, gloves)! I know I wouldn't.

You will have to do your research on each player before sending out higher end items TTM. I usually only send cards or 4x6s since they are easy and cheap to replace. I tend to save things like baseballs and 8x10s for IP 'graphs.
