Storing Autograph signed in ink vs. Sharpie Any Difference?

Just got a great autograph and am very excited to display it. It is signed in regular ink as opposed to sharpie. I plan to frame the original. Should I just put in an archival plastic sleeve before framing? Otherwise I assume framing would eventually smudge. Or are there any special considerations surrounding what appears to be ball-point pen ink? Thanks.
