C4 Envelope Size?

Unread post by skidd »

Hey guys, just got a quick question.
So I want to send an SASE to the US from Ireland (and then back again). At the moment I'm using C4 envelopes to post off A4 pictures, but according to the USPS Postage Calculator, it says 'any dimension over 12"' is considered to be a 'Large Package'. The C4 envelope is just under 12.5", so would that mean it couldn't be classified as a large envelope? If so, I think it would be hugely more expensive...
Any suggestions about what to do? Should I trim the envelopes down half an inch and tape up the edges (I heard US postage doesn't really like taped letters) or is there an alternative?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

It is classified as a large envelope.

The part on the calculator that says "Large Package - any dimension over 12"" is only relative to the option next to it, "Package". It doesn't apply to the previous options - Postcard, Letter and Large Envelope.

Phew. Excellent, thanks for helping out there. I was just a little unsure, but that explains it all
