So much money?

Unread post by reachforanydream »

Hey guys
Today I sent my first 7 letters. I sent 7 LOR's, 7 IRC's, 7 SAE's, 2 photos for each letter, and I bought 7 big envelopes. The price was €42, that's 53 dollar. Is that normal? Is this the normal price you pay? I think this is pretty expensive. How much do you have to pay?

Well, I generally buy a box of 9x12 envelopes which is around $5/$6 and comes with 25/box. Then I get a large pack of cardstock (250 sheets) for around $5 (to print my photos) or a pack of matte photo paper (100 sheets) for around $20. For every 7 autographs I send I spend around $9.24 if I print my two photos on cardstock or $11.48 if I print them on the photo paper. I never send IRC's because they're so expensive (at least, I think they are?) and I don't think it's really ever stopped me from getting a reply. But it's really up to you. You don't even HAVE to send photos or SAE's, but I've found that those things have improved my rate of success so I wouldn't recommend skipping them. Hope that helped!
