How do I start?

Hi Guys,

I'm about to start collecting some autographs, However I'm a little unsure where to start.

I have a few addresses written down, ie

Robin Williams
1 Blackfield Dr.
Suite 409
Belvedere-Tiburon, CA 94920
USA


Do I just send an envelope with a letter saying ' Dr Robin, Can I please have an Autograph, I'm a huge fan, ect '

Or do I have to send money, I'm really unsure how to go about all of this.

Send a letter, a picture, and a self addressed stamped envelope. In the letter you introduce yourself, say what you like about the person, how long you've been a fan, etc and politely ask if they would sign your picture. You don't need to send money unless the person charges extra for the autograph.

Tabby got it right (as usual) just choose a celebrity that you admire or whose work you enjoy, and write a nice, sincere, polite, respectful letter and wait for a response. It is incredibly important to include a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope or as I like to say an unaddressed stamped elephant).
Enjoy and someday (soon???) your trips to the mail box will start getting you something other than bills.

When you say a Self Addressed Stamp/Envelope, are you talkign about a little one ( Like what you get in the mail from a Bill ) Or a Large one, that might fit an 8 x 10 photo.

It depends on the size of the picture you are sending. Just make sure it fits in the envelope you are putting it in and has enough stamps to come back to you.

Just a heads up I have heard Robin sends pre-prints alot.

Thinking of just sending letters/envelopes, I dont have any photos.

That's fine but not all celebs have photos to sign and with some people, if you don't send a picture, you get a pre-print back.
