Hi, I am new to here. I am writing to my favorite actress these days and is about to send out. My question is: (I live outside of the US. Which is better to put in the envelope? SASE or IRC? (I can buy both of them on online shop) I suppose that a SASE will probably increase the chance of return, since the assistant don't have to cash for the IRC and just need to send the letter back. Is this supposition right? Please help me, thank you.
PS: IRC is probably more easier to get for me. So does it really make big difference to put in an IRC instead of a SASE?

The general consensus on here as I understand it is that it makes no difference. People have success with both methods, plus the additional possibility of stuffing a few dollars into an envelope.
I would always send stamps for preference because with an IRC the person you're writing to or the people working for them will have to go to the post office and queue with IRCs, which (if I were doing somebody I'd never met a favour) would quite conceivably put me off doing it, and I struggle to accept that it wouldn't make a difference, however small, to one's chance of success.
Also IRCs are very expensive compared to stamps (well they are in the UK anyway, where they can also be fiendishly hard to obtain).

Yeah, I see. I will try both of them in the future. Thanks a lot!HappinessStan wrote:The general consensus on here as I understand it is that it makes no difference. People have success with both methods, plus the additional possibility of stuffing a few dollars into an envelope.

If you can get stamps for them, definately use a SASE. Your chances of getting a reply are much better than with IRCs. It makes it much easier for the celebrity as everything will be ready for their reply.
