Printing stamps from the Royal Mail website only works in the UK since, yes, they have to be posted out the next day. It's the same as going to the post office and asking for something to be sent, instead of giving you stamps they print a sticky label saying how much you've paid and that goes on the envelope instead.

I believe you are able to purchase stamp books from the website, but I can't remember if they accept international orders or not. Buying from someone here may be the way to go.
