I type my letters but accidentally made a boo-boo! I wrote a letter to Nicholas Smith but accidentally praised the work of his co-star, Wendy Richard, at the end of the letter! I got mixed up while writing it!
Thankfully he understood. He mentioned it when he wrote me back...
This is a cool thread. I'm sure either way is fine but I prefer to type because my handwriting is not good.
mostly, celebs like handwritten because it's actually better taking the time and just writing for the heart, rather than using the computer, unless it's really LONG letter.

Otherwise you could just be copying down their resume and saying you liked their work in this, that, blah blah.
In my experience, the majority of thancelebrities either sign or don't sign, and it doesn't matter if you type or handwrite your letter. However, the quality of response can depend on that. Since I started really decorating my letters and envelopes, and my sister has been sending character drawings or hand-made bracelets along, we've started getting not only the autographs which everyone gets, but more half of the time we receive an extra letter or note in reply to what we've written, even from some big stars. Most of them mention how much they like getting colourful letters, and with my sister being a young child, I think they really like hearing from younger people too.
Thank you for the advice! I haven't sent any letters yet, but my first one is going to be to Miley Cyrus and I will use your advice! Thanks again.
I always handwrite my letters and I try to be very specific when talking about a movie, tv show or concert. I've had some great replies so far. The cast of Last Of The Summer Wine are lovely people. I have handwritten letters and signed photo's of the whole cast.
Handwritten and typed will both get you a reply, (depending on the celeb) However you are more likely to get a personalised success with handwritten as they can see you have taken the time to handwrite it rather than type it because on a computer you can just edit a few words and you got a whole new letter, plus depending on your age if you are young with little handwritten they will be more likely to personalise it.
I guess it's lucky for me that I don't have a printer and I have to handwrite all of mine. I've sent out 15 letters since Wednesday, all hand-written, so we'll see how those go.
