He said ONE of the reasons. There are many. Thankfully more people shop online which does promote the use of the post office. But I have a feeling stamps will keep going up and up.

Reusing stamps is considered mail fraud. I would be extremely weary of dropping any mail in the box with reused stamps because believe it or not the people who work there do look for it. A user on here in the past used to put tape on her stamps so that she could rub the ink off and reuse them every time. If I remember correctly she got quite the talking to from her post office. She was underage.

Right. They are in debt because of emails and texts, but I said that reusing stamps is one of the reasons!

This article says the postal service loses 25-75 million a year just from people illegally reusing stamps...And this article was from 1978!!!

http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1 ... 49,3179753

This article says royal mail loses tens of thousands of dollars a year due to this fraudulent crime.

That is nuts!! Yeah re-using postage does this hobby no favors.

I said that for the younger crowd who read here and think it's okay. And it's not.
I agree! Reusing stamps is one of the reasons why the postal service is in so much debt!

So your telling me that if you had an envelope and it had 3 or 4 dollars worth of unstamped stamps and easy for them too peel off you would just throw it in the trash can and go out and buy new stamps

I put three stamps on each envelope. Period. {up}
(with no cardboard. Never had an issue with that.)
Britney Spears==>> 6 #1 albums. 2 diamond albums. 8 platinum albums. 400+ awards. 200M+ records sold. Britney has sold over 45 million records this decade despite only releasing three albums. Globally, Britney has more #1 singles than any other female artist except Madonna and Rihanna. "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney is the 5th best selling album of the 2000s decade worldwide. Britney is the only female artist to chart her first seven albums in the top two of the Billboard 200. Britney has achieved at least one #1 album in 3 different decades (90's, 00's, 10's). Britney is the first solo female artist from the 90's to reach 1 billion Spotify streams. Despite NOT even being a single, 'Tom's Diner', ft. Britney , has become Giorgio Moroders best-selling digital track. 2015 Billboard Awards ratings reached a 14-year high, with numbers peaking during Britney's performance. She IS the princess of Pop. Yes, I would just throw them away. Even though they are unstamped, they are still used and have already gone through the system.

Yeah just because they don't have black marks on it they still went under the lights and when they go under again and glow yellowish green to show it's already been used. It's called zinc orthosilicate. So not worth having a mail fraud charge for a few bucks in stamps.

Good for you. But I wouldn't and that's the truth. You can. By all means go for it. :)

Depends which country your talking about as a lot of country's don't have that and I reuse stamps every week and had no mail charge yet. It's hardy fraud if the stamps haven't been stamped it a bit like being a newspaper seller flicking through the paper reading the sport headlines then reselling it. Lol
