honest to goodness, my bday is coming up, and i want this one autograph from an artist who will be touring near that time. is it a good idea to mention in my letter that my bday is coming up and his autograph will be the best present ever or is it borderline emotional blackmail?

Personally I'd even be as cheeky to ask for a birthday dedication! Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz) wrote 'Happy Christmas' and drew a Christmas Tree on my photo once, as I mentioned in my letter that his autograph would be a great festive present for me

I agree with Shambler - go ahead! {thumb2} All my letters are different as I write about what's happening at that moment, so my birthday is coming up in August and now I'm actually busy writing a letter and I mentioned that. I got a reply from actor Josh Duhamel two years ago and he wrote "Happy 16th Lizanne!" {love}
