Are more "personal" pics (not an image from a film) ok to se

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I checked the sticky topics and did a quick search but didn't find anything.
To be precise, I'm writing to Tom Woodruff jr soon and since about 99% of the time he appears on screen in a monster suit - and I want to send a photo of him, as him
- would a photo like the following be ok to send?

I'm unsure because it's not like it's a scene from a movie, you know? But at the same time, it's not like it's some family photo, so should it be ok? (I was going to write something anyway like, I'd appreciate you signing these photo's, if you don't mind).
Thanks
