The waiting time can be longer than you think, sometimes several months.

Well, with how busy certain celebrities are, I can understand how they may not always respond. But I agree that some celebs that only appear in a few things, and aren't always busy should have time to sign a picture and slip it in the mail! But sometimes you have to be patient, especially if you know other people have gotten a success through that address.

Like The Collector said, who have you wirtten to?

If they are A list celebrities like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie, then they can take up to 2 years!

Just be patient and positive and before you know it something will arrive.
