WHAT CAN REMOVE PERMANANT INK FROM PHOTOS??
Wonder if anyone knew anything that can remove permanant ink from photos without damaging the photo itself. Found a bargain autograph but it is peronalised and would like to remove the dedication.
In the past tried bleach. It removed the ink but unfortunately along with the top surface of the photo. Any advice on what has worked for you greatly appreciated.

Alot of people say isopropyl alcohol works like a charm, but I haven't tried it myself.

Re: WHAT CAN REMOVE PERMANANT INK FROM PHOTOS??
hi if the photo is a professional printed photo (not printed using a home inkjet) then if you spray a cotton bud with lynx (axe) deoderent you can use this to remove the permant marker.
do not spay directly on to the photo as this will ruin it.
dont rub the cotton bud on the proto too hard as this will damage the image, take you time and it will be fine.
might be worth trying a small area first as not to damage the image
you can also try nail varnish remover but this is harsher on the image so becareful
hope this help

Re: WHAT CAN REMOVE PERMANANT INK FROM PHOTOS??
thank you both : i will test both products on a sample photo - not even going to touch the one I am hoping to get as I would rather keep the personilazation that ruin the photo completely. I will then go from there.
terrylewis4: is this any Lynx deodrant do you know?
Shambler: do you know where i can buy isopropyl alcohol ?
thanks again

I have found, on only particular photos, not sure what the technical term is, that a wipable whiteboard makrker works.

Cheers James. I will test this out on a sample photo too.

Well, whiteboard markers do work on getting permanent markers off whiteboardsJames wrote:I have found, on only particular photos, not sure what the technical term is, that a wipable whiteboard makrker works.

I haven't tried removing ink off photos, but good luck on finding a suitable method mymymy.
