do you have to have an email response from them saying that you're getting their autograph?
If not, do I try again?

When I wrote SFM when I first started collecting, I always recieved a confirmation email. I don't know if you have to recieve one though to get an autograph. Just make sure the email you sent to is correct, and if you don't get a responce, i am sure they still recieved your email and will be sending you an autograph

Nope, I don't usually get a resposne from them (except a few). Just make sure your not getting the reply ones saying "This celeb doesn't do it" or a mailer return thing!

Most SFM addresses nowdays will not send a reply email after you've sent them a request.

I think this was due to the fact that SFM addresses were being posted online, and spammers kept spamming them. As a result, SFM's automatic reply would automatically send a response - and this would have been considered spamming as there would have been such a large volume of replies. Therefore, SFM turned off their auto-responders.

This does not mean that you will not get a photo. It just takes time for them to send one out.
