*Hope this is in right forum because it does deal w/ collecting and mail*

Does anyone know what to do if a neighbor is stealing mail from me? My room-mate opened her mouth to our neighbor and told her that I collect celeb autos and lately we haven't been getting any mail and we noticed our neighbor always has big envelopes and stuff. Room-mate confronted the neighbor and they said they may or may not be taking our mail and walked away. Anyone know what we can do?

That's just plain messed up. I would say make sure they are the ones taking them... but if they give you a sketchy answer like that, then I'm pretty sure that means yes. I don't know where you live (UK, US, etc.)- but if it were me, I'd contact the post office and notify them of the issue and see if they'd be able to hold my mail. And then contact the local authorities, as tampering with another's mail is illegal. The only thing I can't understand is why they'd take all your mail (that'd include bills and just random letters... but yeah contact your local PD & postal service).

This is a very serious issue if your mails are being stolen :neutral: You should contact your local post office immediatly. If you are so sure they are stealing your mails and they do not stop after warnings, then you should get the police involoved.

Do you have a supervisor at your dorm? If so, you should definitely contact him/her.

We actually rent a house not a dorm as we are both no longer in college. lol. But thanks everyone for the suggestions. My room-mate confronted neighbor again, said we were going to the authorities to have her arrested and out of nowhere all our mail for the last week was returned to our mailbox with a note saying it was all a joke. Some of it opened, some of it unopened. We are still going to the police tomorrow. It's not fun.

Well at least you got it back... but yeah, the fact that it was opened is illegal and is punishable by fines and time. If it were me, I probably would have gone crazy and phoned up some buddies on the local PD's S.W.A.T team. or something.

Woah! That's cool that you got all your mail back!! I would have loved to seen the look on your neighbor's face when your friend told her that you guys were going to have her arrested.

That's why I don't mention to my post man or my neighbor's that I collect Autographs TTM, cause that's exactly what will happen.
