Hey,
Im planning on sending a letter to an event that takes place on October 16-19 in FL. How far ahead should i send it? And should I put something like "Please Hold Until 16/10" on the envelope?
Im not really used to writing VV so thats why im asking!
Thanks!

Hi Seb!
Well, I'm from Europe like you and when I'm sending something VV to US, I send it about at least ten days before the event. You can try to write on the envelope something like "Deliver until
the day" but I don't think it'll work, I tried it and got RTS back, 'cause the letter wasn't delivered in time despite the notice on the envelope...But it was sent to Australia so I don't know if it won'r work in the US either

Mail coming to the US from overseas usually takes a MINIMUM of a week.
I sent a letter from NZ to the US that made it in a little over a week (actually I think I mailed it on Sat, and it arrived in the US on the next Saturday), so it depends if there is a problem with customs.
I haven't done anything like that but I'd recommend sending it no later than October 1st.

P.S. The US writes our dates differently so I might spell out "Please hold until October 16th."
