Envelopes ruined in the mail?

Unread post by teenagewasteland »

Someone recently told me that the kind of envelopes I send for autographs are easily ruined in the mail, and can be ripped apart because of the little clasps on them

Is this true? I've sent out 6 autographs, the first few being in November, and I havent gotten anything back yet. Maybe I'm just paranoid lol.

I have recieved about 2 autographs using the same envelopes so they are probaly fine.
If you want... you could use different envelopes and see if you get better responces!

Hope this has helped. If you need more help just ask!

My sister got a Skandar Keynes success and her envelope was open when the mailman came and gave it to her. But the picure was just fine, no wrinkles! :mrgreen:

I don't think that this kind of envelope can decrease the possibilities to get a success (I remember that i got a PP from Tom Cruise in that kind of envelope).
Though I would try to buy another genre of envelope, I just don't like them: they're made for personal use and not for mailing, they're easy to open and the clasp can spoil the pic inside.

I wish you good luck with your requests that are still pending ;-)

Thanks, I feel alot better now :) I doubt I'll be buying new envelopes antime soon though, because I have TONS of those clasps ones lying around my room. I just heard that when the envelope goes through the machine at the post office, the clasps can get stuck and it can rip the envelope apart :shock: The past few I've sent I've been taping shut, so maybe that will help {up}

If you added that you would like them to tape the envelope down in the letter maby they would... It's worth a try!

I think all envelopes have a chance of ripping. I got a success from Boris Johnson today and the envelope had been torn open and the picture was hanging out by the time it got to me. That was just in a regular envelope.
When I write to celebs TTM I always send a self-adhesive SASE so it doesn't cause the celeb any trouble with sealing, they just simply fold the flap down and it's sealed, no licking or taping necessary. I have never had any problems with this type of envelope.
