Cost of US Stamps to the UK

I am about to send off an envelope containing a letter and two 8x10 photographs to Christian Bale. I have just been reading however, that it seems it would be better if I sent US stamps so they don't have to bother buying any and it saves time. As I live in the UK, I usually send dollars.

I have 4, 42c stamps and I am just wondering how much it might cost to send my envelope back to me? It seems to vary on the other requests I have got back.

I'm just wondering if I send them the stamps along with a couple of dollars they might take pity on me. Especially if I'm not out by much, so buying an extra stamp might not be a problem.

Thanks for any help

Personally, I could see you getting by with just the 4 $0.42 cent stamps. US members may say differently though. It all depends on the weight.
If you scroll down on this link and look at the "Large Envelopes (Flats)" it'll tell you exactly how much you need from the USA to UK. A 1 ounce package is $1.20, while 2 ounces is $2.00.

So if you aren't comfortable with sending just the 4 stamps, definitely send a few dollars and I think you should be fine! :)
Best of luck!

Thanks for that information. {up} I've actually decided only to send one image, so that has lessened the weight, and my stamps are actually 90c each, so I have four of them. So I think 3 will cover that Ok. Thanks again. :D
