Sending from the UK to US - not enough stamps?

Hi, sorry, I'm new to this. I've sent a few letters to the US now and I bought stamps from the USPS eBay page, the International ones with succulents on and the moon ones? I was just wondering how many stamps I should put on to get an A5 envelope back to the UK, and what happens if I don't put enough on - do they deliver anyway and then send a charge through when it gets to the UK or do the letters end up lost somewhere forever? Thanks.

USPS.com has a price calculator, prices depend on weight, size, thickness, rigidity etc so no one here can give you an answer.
As for the second one, I don't know, it could slip through detection and arrive safely, otherwise I'd assume it simply won't be sent on to you & will be lost in the system.

Thanks

I did look on the USPS site but found it quite unhelpful, the only concrete price I could find was $12.60 which seemed a little excessive and definitely more than I usually pay to SEND stuff to the US (eBay/etsy etc). I read that the International stamp USPS issues is valid for one letter sized envelope, so hopefully that should be okay? I really hope I'm not getting replies and they're just getting lost - it's so expensive to buy stamps from USPS, and getting customs charged every time as it is! Thanks again!

Global Forever stamps cover a standard paper envelope up to 1oz weight.
USPS will charge significantly more if the envelope is rigid ie contains cardboard.
Try the steps outlined here:

Applying the attributes of your own SASE.

Thanks so much, that's so helpful! I've been sending carded envelopes - oops! Guess I have a few to resend. Only paper envelopes from now on. Thanks again!
