UK to US

Just to clear something up, I have US 1st class stamps, and I live in the UK. They are those bell ones. When I send my SASE to someone in the US, how many of those stamps must I put on it? I have tried once to James Earl Jones with just one stamp, but he added another different stamp when he replied.

In the past I have used 3 Forever stamps which was enough to send an A5 envelope, card backing & photo. Mackenzie Crook even slipped in a Playbill in his and that got here. I'm not sure if 2 would be enough, as I remember working out the math and it coming out at 3 but perhaps someone could quote some figures for you.

ETA - Ok I've done some googling. A Forever stamp is currently worth 42c. An International letter to the UK under 1oz is 94c, so you'd need 3. Under 2oz is $1.74.

Yes. You need at least 0.94 in stamps. If it is heavier than one ounce (about 2 5X7 photos) you will need 1.74 in stamps.

Are the stamps that I described the forever type?
Also, what about how many stamps I need for DL envelopes?

The stamps with the liberty bell on them are forever stamps.

DL envelopes are the normal size envelopes so they should only need 0.94 in stamps.

Hope this helped. Let me know if you need more help. {thumb2}
