I don't know if this would be considered the right place to put this but I need a little help and I was hoping someone would have the answer I am looking for.

I've just spent a lot of time on the South Africa post office web site. No where can I find out how much it costs to mail a large letter!

All it will tell me is the size, weight, and how long it takes to mail. But NO WHERE can I find the price. All I want to know is: How much does it cost to mail a large letter from South Africa to Canada?

Is there anyone from South Africa on this forum that can help me please?

I have emailed their customer service but I have no idea how long they will take to get back to me. If I have to wait too long I will just throw a $5 US bill in the envelope to pay for return postage. But I hope it's enough!

The reason I put the same post in the two forums is because I wanted to make sure that someone that could help me would see it. There are people that never come into this forum and people that never go into the other forum, and by putting it in both I was hoping to catch someone that could help me with the info I am asking.

By putting it in one forum it may not get seen right away by the people that may be able to answer it. I need this info as soon as possible. I figured I could find it myself but the South Africa post office web site doesn't have any pricing info, at least I couldn't find it anywhere.

I guess now that you've deleted the other one I can only hope someone sees this and answers me today. If not I am out of luck as time is of the essence.

I'm from South Africa so I can help!

The postage went up this month (April) so it's quite expensive, but for a large letter from South Africa to overseas (that means Canada too), it will cost you R 30.65. You can see the table of prices here. I'm unsure of what it costs in Canadian $, but I used a currency convertor, and it says it's about 4.17 CAD.

I was on their site and I couldn't find it anywhere. I must be stupid or something, but every link I accessed did not have the info I required! When I accessed international large letters all it told me was the size and weight. When I accessed information it told me how long to mail, and when I accessed stamps it talked about the different kinds. No where could I find a link that gave me prices.

So thank you so very much I will copy that link and keep it for possible future use!

Now if I can just get the PO to answer my email . . .

When i sent to South Africa i used 2 IRC's. I'm sure that would be enough. Or just add a 5 dollar bill!!

IRC's in Canada are $3.65 EACH! At least they were last time I checked. They've been that price for years. That's why I never use them. It's much cheaper to put in US cash.
