Hi everyone, new to the site. I have a quick simple question to ask. Should my SASE be smaller or the same size as the outer envelope? I'm using a 9x12 envelope.

Welcome to the forum

I usually put a smaller one in so the main envelope can close properly, but with many of my requests I put the same size envelope in. The SASE should be big enough to comfortably fit your photos/cardboard if you send one. With many celebrities who also have their own picture to send (e.g. Bam Margera with his extra PPs whilst he also signs your pictures) along with your autographs, if your SASE or SAE isn't big enough they'll usually provide a different envelope, you'll still receive it back if they do that.

Yes, that answered my question thanks! I think I'll be better off sending my SASE that is slightly smaller than my outer envelope.

Hello I am new here,I sent a registered letter to Rob Pattinson last week but with only a SAE included because it the post office they said that they no longer had IRC.Do you think I would get a reply back???And also had should I do now that I can not find IRC???

You could have a look on the 'Sale and Exchance' fourm here on fanmail because there are people who sell IRC's or exchange them for stamps/autographs.
You cant really tell if you will get a reply or not so you will just have to be patient.

It really depends on the celeb. Chances are, they did get your letter. Sometimes they might be nice enough to reply to you without the SASE or stamps. It's not really likely, but it may happen. I would wait and see if you get a response in 4 months or so, and if you don't have a response, then re-write but use a SASE or IRC.

also I live in Canada and sent it to the U.S do they accept mail with Canadian stamps?

I have no idea who that is! Sorry. So I can't give you any advice on if you will get a response or not.

Since you live in Canada the US will deliver mail that was originally posted in Canada with Canadian Stamps. The US Postal Service WILL NOT send a letter from the US to Canada with Canadian stamps. In order for the USPS to mail a letter from the US, there must be US Postage on the letter.
